Hello Friends,
I’m so excited to share with you an amazing experience that I had recently. Ever since I was a little kid, I loved reading books and making up stories in my head. But life got in the way, and I never really pursued my dream.
Something happened in 2020. We all were held in one of the most stringent lockdowns ever. All sort of negativity was looming around, people getting sick, financial difficulties, not being able to meet one’s loved ones, and what not. I got nudged by my neighbor and friend Mr. Bajaj. It was then that I found my refuge in writing. I had a lot of time on my hands, and I decided to give writing a try. I wrote short stories, flash fiction, and even some poetry. I had so much fun expressing myself through words. I found it so liberating and empowering.
My loved ones really motivated me. I am not sure whether they really liked my writing style, or they encouraged me because they didn’t want to hurt me. Whatever the case, now they are stuck reading more of my writings, so they are ones truly responsible for motivating me or tactfully avoiding crushing my writerly dreams. 😂 😂. God bless their hearts.
My ultimate goal was to write a novel. A full-length, original, captivating novel that would make readers laugh, cry, and think. A novel that would showcase my voice and my vision. A novel that would make me proud.
Well, guess what? I did it! I wrote a novel!
Just kidding. 😂
No, I didn’t write a novel. But someone very close to me did. Someone who shares my DNA, my name, and my love for writing. Someone who is my pride and joy.
“My daughter”
Yes, you heard me right. My daughter wrote a book. And not just any book. Its a brilliant piece of work. Not just she has written it, but also got it published.
And I couldn’t be happier for her.
Seriously, I’m not jealous at all. Not even a little bit. OK, maybe a tiny bit. But mostly, I’m just proud. Jokes apart, it’s a great feeling. A feeling that is difficult to put into words. I am proud of her talent, her hard work, her perseverance, her success. Proud of the fact that she followed her dream and achieved it.
She’s an inspiration to me and to many others.
And you know what? She’s quite supportive of me and my writing journey. She always encourages me to keep writing, to improve my skills, to submit my stories to magazines, to seek feedback and learn from it. She reads all my stories and gives me honest and constructive criticism.
So that’s my experience of being the father of a published author.
You might be wondering what her book is about. Well, it’s a fantasy adventure story set in an island where people get stuck and can’t come back. It follows the journey of a few friends who get stuck on that mysterious island.

The book is called “The Pikmi Island”. If you haven’t read it yet, you should definitely check it out. It’s available on bribooks.com. I am sharing the link to get this book – https://www.bribooks.com/bookstore/the-pikmi-island
